The big news entering round eight of the 2018 AMA Supercross series was Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing team 250 rider Justin Hill would be racing the all-new Suzuki RM-Z450 in the premier class. The defending 250 West Supercross Champion wowed the 42,411 fans at Raymond James Stadium by logging the fourth fastest qualifying time, a heat race victory, and a shot at the main event win. Suzuki RM-Z450 teammate Malcolm Stewart scored his best finish of the series in eighth. Weston Peick crashed while running in fifth and ended up just outside of the top ten. RM-Z250 rider Jimmy Decotis got caught up in a second turn crash and charged his way from 20th to 10th.  250 teammate Kyle Peters was in position for a great finish, but he was knocked down by another rider a few laps into the main event. The North Carolina native fought back to 13th.

H.E.P. Motorsports

The H.E.P. Motorsports team made their way to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida this past Saturday night. Team riders Kyle Cunningham, Henry Miller and Dustin Pipes all had their Suzuki RM-Z450’s ready for battle and focused on improving season results. With Cunningham and Miller qualifying for the night show, both riders were seeded into heat race #2. After a red flag re-start during the heat race, Cunningham was able to work his way into 9th position, taking the last transfer spot into the main event. When the gate dropped for the main, Cunningham rocketed out of the pack and positioned himself in 15th. Mid-way through the race a small mishap caused him to go off track and re-enter in 20th. Cunningham kept his hand pulled back on the throttle and finished out the main event in 16th.

Nut Up/LVN100/Suzuki

The Nut Up/LVN/Suzuki team was ready for action in Tampa, FL with the #58 RM-Z450 rider Matt Bisceglia making his return to racing. Bisceglia had been sidelined from injuries sustained in Glendale, AZ and was excited to get back into the mix. With a 15th place finish in heat race #2, Bisceglia lined up for the LCQ to earn his ticket to the main event. When the LCQ gate dropped, the #58 got a great start and latched on to the lead pack ultimately finishing 3rd.  During the main event, Bisceglia rode smart and consistent to finish the night in 19th. Look for improved results as Bisceglia gets back up to speed.

Hatch Racing/Thor/Wayside Lumber/Yoshimura/Suzuki

RM Army off-road racer Gary Sutherlin continued his podium streak with a second place result aboard his Hatch Racing/Thor/Wayside Lumber/Yoshimura/Suzuki at the second round of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) held at Canyon MX Park in Peoria, AZ. Working his way from an 11th place start, Sutherlin methodically picked apart the race and worked his way up to the lead group. After battling for several laps with the leader, an untimely pit stop set him back 18 seconds from the leader. Sutherlin twisted the throttle on his Suzuki and put in a last attempt charge crossing the checkered flag just one second shy of the win!
